Dr. Lau received his B.Sc. (Eng.) and Ph.D. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Hong Kong. He is currently working in the Environmental Protection Department and in charge of a law enforcement section in a Regional Office.�� He has worked before in different sections of the Department responsible for different types of works including formulation of noise policies and legislations, management of an accredited Acoustic Testing Laboratory, management of noise abatement programs, technical support of computer noise modeling programs, provision of noise comments on land-use proposals, infra-structural projects and housing developments, enforcement of various environmental ordinances such as Noise Control Ordinance and Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance.
