Description | Dorsum black or coppery brown in colour. More brown on head. Body with five yellowish white stripes - three dorsal and two lateral stripes. Similar coloration with Blue-tailed Skink (Plestiodon quadrilineatus) and Five-striped Blue-tailed Skink (P. elegans). Easily distinguished between P. quadrilineatus with 5 strips on dorsum (P. quadrilineatus has four). Separated from P. elegans by the absence of two-pronged marking on the head. Tail blue in colour, but probably fades with age. Originally belong to genus Eumeces. In 2004, classified into a new genus Plestiodon by molecular study.
