Total length A female specimen from Hong Kong: Snout-vent length 95.2 mm.
Description Dorsum black or coppery brown in colour. More brown on head.
Body with five yellowish white stripes - three dorsal and two lateral stripes.
Similar coloration with Blue-tailed Skink (Plestiodon quadrilineatus) and Five-striped Blue-tailed Skink (P. elegans).
Easily distinguished between P. quadrilineatus with 5 strips on dorsum (P. quadrilineatus has four).
Separated from P. elegans by the absence of two-pronged marking on the head.
Tail blue in colour, but probably fades with age.
Originally belong to genus Eumeces. In 2004, classified into a new genus Plestiodon by molecular study.

Presumably inhabits woodland.

Diet Presumably small insects and invertebrate.
Reproduction Oviparous. Breeding habit unknown.
Distribution Rare species in Hong Kong.
First specimen (female) collected at Lo Fu Kei Shek (老虎騎石), Sai Kung in 1998 by David Willott.
Recorded from few localities restricted in Sai Kung.
Occurs in Vietnam.
