General appearance: body large sized, up to 20mm long; head with small frontal horn; small eyes not beyond edge of epicranium, tuberacles prominent at postero-lateral of occipital lobe, antennae with dense mass of setae apically; labium scoop-shaped with straight apical margin of mentum; thorax with pale transverse stripes; legs spidery, brown twig-like covered by sparse setae; abdomen ovate with some pale markings; dorsal spines on abdominal segments IV - IX and lateral spines on segments VIII - IX
