General appearance: body large sized, up to 22mm long, covered by dense hairs especially on legs; head rectangular with bean-like eyes, labium mask-shaped with 7 palpal setae; wing pads extending to abdominal segment V; abdomen oblong shaped with some markings on each side of abdominal segments VII - IX; dorsal spines on abdominal segments IV - VII and lateral spines on abdominal segments VIII - IX
