Ictinogomphus pertinax (Common flangetail)
Habitat: larvae found in ponds and marshes
General appearance: body large sized, up to about 25mm long; blade-like antennae, slightly curved upward; anterior margin of labium with two rows of teeth; all tarsi two-segmented (cf. 3-segmented in other gomphids), no distinct burrowing hook on tibiae; abdomen oval shaped with dark pattern; dorsal spines on abdominal segments II - IX (only VI - IX clearly seen in early instar stages), lateral spines on segments VII - IX
