Tetracanthagyna waterhousei (Giant riverhawker)
Habitat: larvae found in slow-flowing streams or pools in uplands
General appearance: body very large sized, up to 48mm long; dark brown at late instar stage while pale brown with cloud-like pattern on abdomen in earlier stage; head pentagonal with several proturbances on posterior occipital margin; apex of labial palp curved with end hook, lateral margin of mentum curved-shaped (cf. straight in Anax); legs brown with dark markings; abdomen spindle-shaped with lateral spines on abdominal segments V - IX, but without dorsal spine
