Anax immaculifrons (Fiery emperor)
Habitat: larvae found in upland rocky streams
General appearance: body large sized, up to 50mm long; head pentagonal with occipital lobe rounded and large eyes; apex of labial palp truncate at end hook, almost rectangular at the anterio-distal angle, apex pointed at posterio-distal angle (difference from most other species), interior margin with a row of molar-like teeth; legs slender with dark markings; abdomen elongated spindle-shaped with lateral spines on abdominal segments VI - IX, but without dorsal spine
