According to Tong & Dudgeon's paper (Pan-Pacific Entomologist, 79, pp 71-74), male imago of Choroterpes (Choroterpes) petersi could be easily distinguished from all known species of Choroterpes (Choroterpes) by its unique male genitalia and well developed, acute costal projection of hindwings, apex of which located approximately 2/3 distance from base.
Larva could be distinguished by the following characteristics:
1) Labrum with 3 parallel transverse rows of setae on dorsal surface: middle row without setae medially & posterior row with sparse setae; anteromedian margin deeply U-shaped cleft
2) Gill I slender with double lamellae
3) Median projection of
gills II - VII plate-like and remarkably larger and longer than its lateral filaments.
