General appearance: body dorsoventral flattened with conspicuous lateral tracheal gills on abdominal segments I -VII and spiracular atrium absent (distinguished chacteristics for this genus); head subquadrate, mandibles strongly asymmetrical (left mandible shorter & with a small tooth), clypeolabrum asymmetrical.
