General appearance: Body outline fairly continuous; hind claws are of equal length; pronotum narrowly but clearly bordered laterally; Six conspicious elytra striae; all elytra striae ends near prosternal side; hind coxal lines well impressed and nearly touching median line, turning outward at a near-right angle into hind coxal process. Differ from Copelatus cf tenebrosus in that all elytra striae end close to the base of elytra.
