Description | Back brown in colour, may has fine dark spots. Ventrals uniformly dark brown. Head brown, with a small black mark below each eye. Juveniles with a white V-shaped marking just behind the head. A distinct dorsal groove in middle of neck. Upper labials cream colour, with one or two dark spots. Tail rather short. Scales weakly keeled. |
Habitat | Live in high altitude in Hong Kong. Locally only known from a single dead specimen found on top of Tai Mo Shan. |
Behaviour | Reported to be diurnal. |
Diet | Is reported to feed on earthworms and slugs. |
Reproduction | Oviparous. Is reported to lay 9-19 eggs at a time. |
Distribution | In Hong Kong, the only record is based on a dead young specimen found near the summit of Tai Mo Shan in 1986. Occurs in central and southern China, Burma and northern Vietnam. |
