Description | Back dark chocolate-brown. Two dull orange dorsolateral stripes extend from the neck to the tail tip. Ventrals whitish, with large black spot at each end. Head black. Distinctive white stripes extend from behind of each eye to the neck, connected to the orange dorsal stripes. Upper and Lower labials cream-coloured. Scales lightly keeled. |
Habitat | Live in damp leaf litter in mountain forest, ususally near stream. |
Behaviour | Little is known about its behaviours. Probably active both at night and day. |
Diet | A captive specimen from Guangdong fed on amphibians. |
Reproduction | Oviparous. Lay at least 3 eggs, as one specimen in China had 3 eggs in the body. |
Distribution | In Hong Kong, first recorded in 1986 from Shek Kong. |
